Musician Health and Safety
Langston University’s Department of Music recognizes the importance of safeguarding the well-being of all developing musicians. The National Association of Schools of Music (NASM), in collaboration with the Performing Arts Medicine Association (PAMA), has created guidelines and resources to address issues related to hearing, neuromusculoskeletal and vocal health. These materials are designed to help students understand potential risks, take proactive steps to protect themselves, and access strategies and support for maintaining long-term health as performers, educators and professionals in music.
