Message from the Assistant Vice President for Enrollment Management
Greetings,
Stepping into the role of Assistant Vice–President for Strategic Enrollment and Advising Services at Langston University was a profoundly impactful experience for me, as this University holds a special place in Oklahoma Black history, and in my heart.
Dear Langston is a testament to academic excellence and a natural beauty. The meticulously designed spaces, world-renowned research, and tranquil surroundings provide the perfect backdrop for students to flourish in their pursuit of knowledge and personal growth.
With a student body numbering around 2,000, Langston University maintains a delicate balance between the intimacy of a close-knit community and the vibrancy of distinct interactions. With learning spaces in Langston, Oklahoma City, Tulsa and Ardmore, our faculty and staff foster meaningful connections with undergraduate, graduate and professional students. Those connections enable collaborative learning, meaningful mentorship, and a sense of belonging that often eludes students at larger institutions.
Our dedicated faculty and staff, attuned to the demographics of our student body, consistently work to create inclusive and supportive learning environments. The bonds between our faculty and students are known to transcend the classroom, thus empowering students to navigate challenges and celebrate achievements together.
I am extremely proud to lead the Department of Strategic Enrollment and Advising Services. I am fortunate to work with dedicated staff representing the Office of Admissions, Recruitment, and Outreach Programs, Office of Student Financial Aid and Scholarships, and the University College. We are a dedicated team of individuals who are experts in our fields. Collectively, we routinely demonstrate true passion for helping to shape the future of our students. We are meticulous in our approach to maintaining processes, systems and cultural experiences that nurture and ensure each student’s academic and social journey serves to prepare them to be innovative, responsible, and productive members of our global society.
Dear Langston, Oklahoma’s Only HBCU, maintains its commitment to being accessible, affordable, and exceptional. I humbly welcome you to our community, as I am certain that in short order, you will be empowered to carve your path, embrace your passions, and find the Lion in you. We Roar!
