One hundred and twenty-six years since the institution’s founding, Langston University (LU) remains committed to maintaining and cultivating a transformative educational experience for students. The institution sets a high bar for itself, especially in the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) fields. For more than a decade, the University has exceeded the national retention rate for STEM students.
As one of 19 universities created under the Morrill Act of 1890, Langston also delivers affordable access to career-oriented higher education. Seventy percent of those enrolled at Langston University are first-generation students!
Langston’s reach extends beyond the classroom. Our teams lead advanced research projects that provide innovative solutions that have a tremendous impact on communities across the world!
In addition, as one of 11 regional universities designated by the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education (OSRHE), LU is an engine of economic, social, and civic prosperity. The critical teaching, research and extension offered at Langston impacts economic development and provides readily available, research-based resources that improve the lives of the individuals, families, and communities within Oklahoma.

The facilities at Langston University provide an abundant array of opportunities for the university community. The University allows student organizations and academic departments to schedule meetings, seminars, trainings, and special events of activities. The most popular facilities for usage are under the auspices of the Division of Student Affairs & Enrollment Management. Which include: I.W. Young Auditorium, J.W. Montgomery Multi-Purpose Building, Student Success Center Game Room, Student Success Center Great Room, and Student Success Center Seminar Room. All current students, faculty and staff are eligible to use the facilities, at no cost, by submitting a Langston University Activity Form. Outside agencies may be eligible for use of facilities in conjunction with student organizations, university departments, and special administrative permission.

OFFICE OF PUBLIC RELATIONS
Welcome to the Office of Public Relations! Our department currently serves all of the Langston University campuses in various capacities, but our main goal is to positively promote, market, and advance the institution through various channels by proactively developing graphics, sharing news stories, and disseminating University announcements! Our office also produces several publications including Our Pride magazine. We are here to serve our departments and share about the great things you are doing, so please feel free to contact us by email us at lupublicrelations@langston.edu.
- Project Request Form
To submit a Project Request, please complete the form below with your contact information, type and size of what you would like us to create, and supporting documents, wording or any other information that would help us bring your vision to life. Once submitted you should receive a confirmation that the request has been submitted. If you haven’t heard back from us in 2 days, please feel free to follow up on your request. Due to the number of requests, all Project Request Forms will be handled on a first-come, first-served basis. Please contact us directly in advance if your project is time-sensitive. Please contact us directly via email at lupublicrelations@langston.edu prior to using outside sources or vendors so that we may assist with branding requirements as appropriate. The Office of Public Relations reserves the right to deny any request that cannot be fulfilled.

Please note the approximate time needed to complete the respective projects:
- Email blasts & social media – allow at least 1 week
- Event Promotion requests – allow at least 4-6 weeks for proper promotion
- Graphic design – allow at least 4 – 6 weeks (this will allow 2 – 4 weeks for design and 2 weeks for your promotion needs)
- Press Releases, News Stories & Website updates – allow at least 2-3 weeks
- Photography – please schedule at least 2 months in advance
