Open Scholarships
Langston University is pleased to provide the latest open scholarships available to current and continuing students.
The list of scholarship opportunities will change based on the open application dates.
The open scholarships listed may be offered from outside sources as well as the Langston University Foundation. Each listing will include the title of the open scholarship, details, application deadlines, requirements, and links to apply.
Scholarship Applications Currently Open
The Oklahoma Single Parent Scholarship Program (OSPSP) has opened their Fall 2026 Scholarship Application. The scholarship application will close on June 15, 2026.
OSPSP has two scholarship seasons.
- Applications for the 2026 Fall Scholarship are open from May 15 to June 15.
- Applications for the 2027 Spring Scholarship will open October 15 and close November 7, 2026, for prior recipients only.
Applicants who are selected as OSPSP scholars will be eligible to receive $1,200 for the semester.
Funds may be used for tuition, textbooks, rent, mortgage, utilities, transportation, medical, groceries, diapers, childcare and membership dues to professional organizations. (It is expected the Pell grant will pay for most or all of your tuition.)
The scholarship criteria is as follows:
- Be a resident of Oklahoma;
- Be the custodial parent of at least one child under the age of 18 living in a single-parent household without assistance of a “significant other” living in the home;
- Be a full-time student at a non-profit college or university located in Cleveland, Grady, Logan, Oklahoma or Payne County working toward a degree;
- Have completed at least one semester of college;
- Not hold a previously obtained Bachelor’s degree;
- Have a minimum 2.0 GPA in the most recent semester and cumulatively;
- Be eligible to receive a federal Pell Grant.
Documents you will be required to submit in order for your application to be complete:
- Your last tax return;
- A Student Aid Report (SAR) as calculated by FAFSA;
- Your official transcript; and
- Next semester’s class schedule.
In addition to the funds awarded, OSPSP scholars may be encouraged to participate in workshops or mentoring activities as offered. Information can be provided to scholarship recipients.
As a non-profit organization, OSPSP funding is made possible through the generosity of individuals, private foundations and corporate donors.
The Luther Vandross Foundation, a nationwide scholarship granting organization, is pleased to announce the 2026 application is now open! This scholarship is designated to support undergraduate students enrolled at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) including Langston University, who are in their third, fourth or fifth year of college.
The deadline for the Luther Vandross Foundation scholarship application is June 15, 2026.
Student applicants are required to prepare and upload a letter of recommendation to complete their Luther Vandross Foundation Scholarship application.
Fifty scholarships will be awarded. Many of the selected winners of the Luther Vandross Scholarship will be eligible for $500 to $5,000 scholarships for the 2026-2027 school term. Students can access the Luther Vandross Foundation’s Scholarship application here.
The Luther Vandross Foundation’s dedication to the legendary singer’s legacy, focuses on providing financial assistance to HBCU students, a cause close to Luther’s heart. Throughout his illustrious career, Vandross was a fervent advocate for education, understanding firsthand the challenges students face in funding their college education. His commitment was evidenced through his support for the United Negro College Fund (UNCF) and his generous bequests aimed at fostering educational opportunities for underprivileged students.
