Information for Faculty/Staff
The 125th Commencement of Langston University will be on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. To assist with preparations, please find important information below:
- The National Weather Service is forecasting a significant chance of inclement weather this week through Friday, May 9th, which is the date of our mandatory rehearsal for all graduating students, marshalls, Deans, faculty, and volunteers. Should the weather result in a light drizzle or mist, we will continue our outdoor rehearsal as planned. Please be prepared for potential rain on Friday.
- As previously indicated, the mandatory Commencement Rehearsal is Friday, May 9, 2025, in the W.E. Anderson Stadium. Students will be asked to arrive to the I.W. Young Auditorium 9-10 a.m. Rehearsal for faculty and staff will begin at 10:15 a.m. on the football field. If you do not have a role in commencement, you do not have to attend but are welcome to if you want to see the layout, etc.
- The Langston University Commencement Ceremony will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at 10 a.m. in the W.E. Anderson Stadium.
- Continental breakfast will be available beginning at 7 a.m. in the Multipurpose Gymnasium. This is optional, not mandatory.
- All faculty and staff participating must arrive by no later than 8:30 a.m. and report to the Multipurpose Gymnasium. Please stay in the Multi to keep the hallways clear. Please do not arrive late. Please refrain from going to the Main Gymnasium.
- All parking lots will be open. No decals will be enforced that day. The north and south entrances will be open to assist with travel flow. Please keep in mind that traffic will be heavy as move-outs will also be taking place.
- The week’s rainy weather will most likely have impacted the stadium field. Please wear comfortable, business casual shoes. Pointed heels may cause imbalance walking on the field and stiletto heels can damage the field. You are encouraged to wear wedged or flat shoes (business casual). The temperature on Commencement day is expected to be cool.
- Temperature highs are expected to reach 70 degrees, so we encourage you to wear appropriate clothing under gowns. Water will be available for all participants on the field.
- Full regalia must be worn.
- As a reminder, attendance at the Commencement Ceremony is mandatory for all faculty.
- Please do not bring your children onto the field with you for the ceremony.
