The Langston Beautification & Seed Giveaway Day is a statement of love and pride for the Langston community. Beautification strengthens community identity, boosts morale, and inspires others to take pride in their surroundings. A clean and green community is a healthy and thriving community.

Our PCRT/FANH24 and Math & Summer Science Camp students are leading by example —showing how science, agriculture, and civic engagement go hand in hand. These youth are not just planting seeds in the ground — they’re planting roots in the community and sowing leadership skills. This is what service learning looks like — education rooted in real-life impact.

Community gardens and green spaces can improve air quality, reduce stress, and even increase property values. Planting is a direct act of hope and investment. Every flower and vegetable symbolizes growth, nourishment, and care. By giving away seeds, we’re giving people the tools to grow their own food, flowers, and futures.

This project reflects the land-grant mission of Langston University — education that benefits the whole community. When we plant together, we grow together. Langston University Extension is proud to support hands-on service projects that empower students and beautify the communities we serve.

We hope to see you June 1!
