Dr. John Coleman
Interim Dean of the School of Arts and Sciences
The School of Arts and Sciences provides the academic foundations for all disciplines, and as such, we work to make sure our programs are the best they can be. Our students and faculty strive for excellence, and recent investments in our biology, chemistry and communications programs are helping to raise the prestige of the School on the state and national levels.
The School of Arts and Sciences recognizes the importance of education outside the classroom, which is why we offer a variety of student clubs and organizations as well as research opportunities. Additionally, Arts and Sciences provides its students and faculty with international opportunities, which include study abroad, research, work abroad, volunteerism and internships in the Republic of South Africa, West Africa and Gambia. As we prepare students to become leaders at the local, national and international levels, we will help them to meet the challenges created by the global community in which knowledge of other nations and their customs and traditions will be no longer just desirable but imperative.
Join us at Langston University and see how the programs within the School of Arts and Sciences can provide you with a well-rounded education that will prepare you for the future!
