How LU Foundation Scholarships Work
The LU Foundation scholarships are paid out after all other scholarships, grants, and financial aid have been applied to your account.
These scholarships are awarded based on two main factors:
- Your GPA – Higher GPAs earn more points.
- Your financial need – The larger your remaining balance, the more points you earn.
We add your GPA points and your financial needs together. Students with the highest combined points receive the scholarships first, and awards are made in order from there.
This process helps us ensure that scholarships are awarded fairly and go to students who are both academically strong and still have financial needs.
The Scholarship Committee will review applications and make decisions by the end of March 2026. If you are selected for a scholarship, you will be notified directly by the LU Foundation via email.
If you have any questions, please email lufoundation@langston.edu.
The Langston Campus Continuing Student Scholarship is open to current full-time undergraduate LU students. Students must be enrolled in a minimum of 15 credit hours per semester and attend the Langston campus.
The deadline for submissions is Monday, March 2, 2026.
Applicants must have completed at least two full-time semesters with a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.5, and first-year students must have completed one full-time semester.
In addition, applicants must be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Residents of the U.S. and must have completed the 26-27 FAFSA at the time of application. Students currently receiving the McCabe or USDA scholarships and enrolled on urban campuses are not eligible for this scholarship.
