Our Mission
The mission of the Office of Institutional Research and Planning (IRP) is to serve as a support mechanism and resource office for Langston University, thereby allowing the university to make data-informed decisions in the areas of (a) academic success, (b) faculty growth and development, (c) university-wide communication strategies, (d) academic program expansion, and (e) effective use of resources.
IRP accomplishes its mission by producing, collecting and disseminating multiple forms of quantitative and qualitative data, by fulfilling data requests for all constituent groups of the University, and by creating and monitoring data-informed plans in critical areas of the university.
It carries out its responsibility through the following major functions:
- Develop and maintain or have access to a base of information on students, courses, human resources, and finances for Langston University, peer institutions, and national data sources.
- Provide timely and accurate information for planning, internal decision-making, and external accountability.
- Support the development, analysis, and evaluation of policies and plans for Langston University through service to the senior administrators, faculty, and planning committees.
