Embracing Our Mission
A proud member of the 1890 Land-Grant Institutions National Program, Langston delivers high quality agricultural research, education, and extension programs that were first established under the Second Morrill Act of 1890.
Dear Langston was established with the central mission to pioneer advancements in agricultural science and broaden access to higher education for African Americans. Today, the land grant mission remains a cornerstone of the University’s empowerment.

Submitting Your Request
Thank you for your interest in requesting Dr. Ruth Ray Jackson to appear and/or be honored at your event. The President’s schedule is extremely busy and her calendar often fills up months in advance.
All requests must be submitted at least 30 days prior to your event date to ensure proper coordination with the Office of the President. Events and engagements that support and highlight the University’s mission take priority.
Once your request is received, a response email will be sent to you within 48 hours. Requests are reviewed weekly and decisions communicated accordingly.
