Langston University (LU) Dual Enrollment allows high school sophomores, juniors and seniors to earn college credits in pursuit of an undergraduate degree in one of LU’s Schools of Agriculture and
Applied Sciences, Arts and Sciences, Business, Education and behavioral Sciences, or Nursing and Health Sciences. Benefits of enrolling in dual enrollment include starting earning college credits earlier, and saving money on tuition and fees.
An admitted Langston University high school dual enrollment student may enroll in a combined number of high school and college courses per semester not to exceed a full-time college workload of 19 semester credit hours.
Choose to complete your dual enrollment courses with Langston University, Oklahoma’s only historically black college or university (HBCU).

- High school sophomores, juniors or seniors enrolled in an accredited high school
- Minimum GPA of 2.50
- Official high school transcript(s)
- Parental consent form
- Health immunization form
A student receiving high school-level instruction at home or from an unaccredited high school may be admitted provisionally to Langston University as a special student if they meet the requirements set forth below:
- If 17 years of age or older and student has achieved a composite score which places them at or above the top 62nd percentile of the American College Test (ACT) using Oklahoma norms.
- If 16 years of age and student has achieved a composite score which places them at or above the 90th percentile on the American College Test (ACT) using Oklahoma norms or whose combined verbal and mathematical score on the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) places them at or above the 90th percentile using national norms.
- If the student’s ACT or SAT composite score is not at the 90th percentile but the student’s sub-score(s) is at the 90th percentile, they may enroll in course work in the discipline with the required score, providing the student does not have a curricular deficiency in the subject area.
- For purposes of calculating dual enrollment workload, one-half high school unit shall be equivalent to three semester credit hours of college work. Students wishing to exceed this limit may appeal to the Vice President for Academic Affairs.
- The student’s load may not exceed the number of semester credit hours 50 percent greater than the number of weeks in the applicable semester/term. The college should provide appropriate academic advising prior to and continuing throughout the student’s enrollment.
- Enrolled high school dual enrollment students enrolling in off-campus classes may only enroll in liberal arts and sciences courses.
- A student who is otherwise eligible under this policy may enroll in a maximum of nine semester credit hours during the summer term.
- The completion of the high school curricular requirements set forth in First-Time Entering Freshman shall not be required of high school dual enrollment students for purposes of admission.
- Dual enrollment students will not be allowed to enroll in any zero level courses offered by Langston University designed to remove high school deficiencies.
- A high school dual enrolled student may continue in subsequent semesters if they achieve a college cumulative grade-point.
- Average of 2.0 or above on a 4.0 scale. Following high school graduation, a student who has been concurrently enrolled as a high school student may be admitted if the student meals the entrance requirements, including the high school requirements.
Langston University High School Dual Enrollment Details
