Admission Requirements
The Doctor of Physical Therapy program is an entry-level professional course of study for individuals with an earned baccalaureate degree at an accredited college or university with a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 on a scale of 4.0 in which 4.0 is equivalent to an “A.” Prerequisite courses must be completed with a “C” or better grade in each course, and with an overall prerequisite GPA of 2.5. Prerequisite courses must have been completed within the past 10 years from the application deadline.
To be considered for admittance to Langston University’s School of Physical Therapy and the DPT program, the following requirements must be met and submitted via the Physical Therapist Centralized Application Service (PTCAS):
- Submit a completed application for admission.
- Submit official undergraduate and graduate transcripts from each institution attended. Submit final undergraduate transcript that confers baccalaureate degree.
- Complete the Prerequisite Courses & Requirements Completed form.
- Provide three letters of recommendation.
- Submit Graduate Record Examination (GRE) scores. Scores should be no older than five years prior to the application deadline.
- Pay a non-refundable application fee of $75 for in-state applicants and $100 for out-of-state applicants. Payment can be mailed to Langston University, School of Physical Therapy, P.O. Box 1500, Langston, OK 73050 or Pay Your School of Physical Therapy Application Fee Online
- Complete an autobiographical statement form.
- Provide documentation of 50 hours of clinical observation.
- Submit medical records
- Immunization history MUST INCLUDE
- MMR vaccine (2 doses)
- Varicella 1 & 2 vaccine series or titer
- Hepatitis B vaccine series (3 doses)
- Current tuberculosis test (within one year of application deadline)

- Biology I w/lab (4-6 credits)
- Biology II or Zoology w/lab (4-6 credits)
- Anatomy w/lab (4-6 credits) and Physiology w/lab (4-6 credits) OR Anatomy & Physiology I w/lab (4-6 credits) and Anatomy & Physiology II w/lab (4-6 credits)
- Chemistry I w/lab (4-6 credits)
- Chemistry II w/lab (4-6 credits)
- Physics I w/lab (4-6 credits)
- Physics II w/lab (4-6 credits)
- General Psychology (3 credits)
- Child Psychology OR Developmental Psychology (3 credits)
- English Composition I (3 credits)
- Statistics (3 credits)
- Medical Terminology (1-3 credits)
