  • Irrigation installation and maintenance
  • Snow removal from all sidewalks and parking lots

Custodial Services:
One of the single most important factors influencing most prospective students’ decision to accept admission into a University? It is the appearance of the campus. That’s one reason why the work of the Custodial staff is so important—it helps the University gain and retain students. With responsibility for cleaning more than 1.3 million square feet in more than 35 buildings on the Langston University campus every day, we have a tremendous responsibility in maintaining and supporting the campus environment. Our goal is to provide cleaning services in a cost effective, efficient, and environmentally sound manner. We work hard to maintain a clean, safe, comfortable atmosphere so that students and other building occupants have the best possible environment in which to safely learn and work.

Professional Conduct:
We view each member of the campus community as a colleague who is accountable for his or her own work and his or her assigned area of responsibility. We make every attempt to respect privacy and professional boundaries. We also acknowledge that each of our campus facilities is different—structurally, of course, but also in the character created by the students, faculty, staff, and programs unique to each. All are vital components of the mix that characterizes each building and its needs. We conduct our business as professionals who are always striving to improve our methods, approaches, and services. We have a challenging job, and using our equipment and chemicals safely and effectively requires a great deal of training and specialized knowledge.

Requesting Services:
Work orders are to be submitted via NetFacilities from assigned faculty and staff. If you do not have access to NetFacilities you can reach out to your supervisor or resident director regarding the issue and he/she will be able to get it submitted. Requestors who submit work requests electronically will automatically receive notice by email of any change in work order status. For emergency services, during business hours (Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.), email lufacilities@langston.edu. For after-hours emergencies, call the Langston University Police Department at 405-466-3366.

Surplus Services:
The Langston University Surplus Property Office processes items from the Langston University Campus and other state organizations to auction to the public. The Surplus Property Office also donates to charities and non-profit groups, recycles and otherwise functions as a means of disposal for property that the university no longer uses.

Motor Pool:
The purpose of this Policy and Procedure Letter is to inform University Personnel of the services available through the Langston University Motor Pool Services and the procedures to use in requesting Motor Pool services. Langston University Motor Pool Services is administered by Langston University Facilities Management through the Office of Fiscal Affairs and the Office of the President.
