Langston University is pleased to share information about the Oklahoma’s Promise Scholarship Program.

Oklahoma’s Promise is a scholarship program that offers qualified Oklahoma students an opportunity to earn a scholarship for college tuition. The program was created in 1992 by the State Legislature to help Oklahoma families send their children to college, and the program is administered by the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education.

Qualifying high school and homeschool students can earn a 100% tuition scholarship to Oklahoma’s public universities. This includes Langston University, Oklahoma’s HBCU! 

Langston University is the most affordable 4-year public university in Oklahoma, and when you attend LU with Oklahoma’s Promise, higher education becomes even more affordable. Simply said, your financial aid goes further at Langston University! Many Oklahoma’s Promise recipients who enroll at Langston University graduate with little to no debt.

• More than 94% of Oklahoma’s Promise graduates were employed in Oklahoma one year after graduation.**

Oklahoma’s Promise – Recipient Requirements 

• Oklahoma residents enrolled in an Oklahoma high school.
• 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th or 12th grade students.
• Students must apply before Dec. 31 of their 12th grade year.  
• Homeschool applications must be electronically submitted or postmarked before the student’s 18th birthday.
• Students placed into Oklahoma DHS custody during the 8th, 9th, 10th or 11th grade who were unable to enroll in the program may enroll prior to their official date of high school graduation.
• 2.5 overall GPA for all courses in grades 9-12
• 2.5 GPA or better for required high school coursework
• Be a student whose parents’ federal adjusted gross income does not exceed:
  $60,000 with 1 or 2 dependent children, OR
  $70,000 with 3 or 4 dependent children, OR
  $80,000 with 5 or more dependent children
