Oklahoma's Promise Scholarship Program
Langston University is pleased to share information about Oklahoma’s Promise Scholarship Program. Provided through the Oklahoma Higher Learning Access Program, qualifying high school and homeschool students can earn a tuition scholarship at state public universities. That includes Langston University, Oklahoma’s only Historically Black College or University (HBCU)!
As a public land-grand university, tuition and fees at Langston University are much more affordable than at larger public higher education institutions. Simply said, your financial aid goes further at Langston University! Many Oklahoma’s Promise recipients who enroll at Langston University graduate with little to no debt.

Oklahoma’s Promise – Recipient Requirements
- Be an Oklahoma resident enrolled in an Oklahoma high school
- Apply for Oklahoma’s Promise Scholarship program before your senior year
or the age equivalent for homeschool students - 2.5 overall GPA
- 2.5 GPA for required high school coursework
- Be a student whose parents’ federal adjusted gross income does not exceed:
$60,000 with 1 or 2 dependent children, OR
$70,000 with 3 or 4 dependent children, OR $80,000 with 5 or more dependent children
