Greenwood Avenue inside the Jack Henderson Allied Health Building. This free symposium is presented by Green Country Habitat for Humanity\, GRAND Mental Health and Langston University. \nEquanimity and the American dream of home ownership have not always aligned. Attendees will learn more about access to the home buying experience\, the mental health benefits of home ownership\, and the relationship between home ownership and community wellbeing. This important discussion is open to all including students and community members alike. \n“This symposium is very important and relevant. Our goal is to provide community engagement\, education\, awareness and outreach to those communities that may hesitate to even seek the opportunity to purchase a home\,” says Phillip Lewis\, Ph.D.\, Associate Professor of Rehabilitation Studies at the LU-Tulsa Campus. \n“Access to stable\, permanent housing is directly tied to an individual’s emotional welfare\, sense of security\, ability to thrive in society\, and influence community wholeness\,” notes Jeff Harlin\, Chief Administrative Officer Tulsa\, GRAND Mental Health. “We are honored to partner with Langston University and Green Country Habitat for Humanity\, to assure students and community members alike understand the homeownership dream is possible.”
