Faculty Senate
Message from the Chair
Elicia Pollard
Faculty Senate Chair

I welcome you to the Langston University Faculty Senate web page.  It is my privilege to serve as your 2016-17 Faculty Senate Chair.  The Faculty Senate is the principal governance body representing all faculty.  We believe that faculty have a responsibility to serve in partnership with administration and work with internal and external constituents to advance the university’s best interests.

The Faculty Senate is composed of faculty representation from all six Colleges, as well as librarian representation.  Full-time faculty with at least 3 years of experience are eligible to be elected to the Senate. All faculty are welcome to attend our monthly meetings and encouraged to become involved with the Senate through Standing Committees.  Senate meetings serve as a forum for faculty to present ideas or matters of concern and they are venues through which Faculty Senate communicates with the president of the university, administration, and departments of the university.

The Faculty Senate is committed to the work of shared governance to enrich the working conditions for our faculty and to maintain the integrity of our academic curricula and research programs.  All faculty and members of the university community are welcome to contact me to share ideas, suggestions, or concerns.  I look forward to productive relations with all constituents of Langston University.

Collegially,

Elicia Pollard

Faculty Senate Chair
